Soft skills, hard training

The success of an organisation is not based merely on the technical brilliance of its employees but also on their motivation, engagement, ability to communicate and ultimately, to lead.  Organizations need people who work to their strengths, align with the goals of the company and are willing to develop themselves and others. At Schouten we believe that sustainable behavioural change starts when individuals take responsibility for their own development and when they can learn and experiment in a safe and supportive environment.  We set this up even before the training begins, speaking with each participant individually to assess his or her learning goals and desired outcomes from the program.

During training, learning is action based.  At Schouten we emphasize experiential learning through role play, problem solving, group interaction, feedback and homework.  We have found that this setting takes into account the different learning styles of individuals and helps them use their own talents for problem solving whether technical or social. Participants walk away from the training with a visceral as well as analytical understanding of what they have learned and how to apply it back in the workplace.
